Daryl Sherman Jazz Tribute to Johnny Mercer June 1, 8 and 15

In celebration of her new Arbors CD Johnny Mercer: A Centennial Tribute, singer/pianist Daryl Sherman will be appearing three Mondays, June 1, 8, 15 (one 8pm show) at the Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room, NYC.

Guest musicians sharing in this salute to one of America's greatest songwriters include James Chirillo, Boots Maleson, Wycliffe Gordon, Howard Alden and Jay Leonhart. The emphasis will be Mercer's collaborations with jazz luminaries such as Jimmy Rowles, Blossom Dearie, Marian McPartland in addition to Lionel Hampton, Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong.

From rarities like “The Bathtub Ran Over Again" to classics “Midnight Sun" and “Jeepers Creepers", these songs and performers will swing, make you chuckle and touch your heart.
