BLu7 is a Las Vegas based jazz quintet performing some very exciting and creative music.
Formed in 2007 by trumpeter/composer James Barela, BLu's music combines modern jazz with elements of world music, avant-garde, and contemporary beats.
Their newly released CD, “Cultural Instigator" is already gaining much attention in the southwest United States as well as in Europe. Independently released in May of 2008, “Cultural Instigator" fuses such styles as flamenco, hip hop, modal jazz, Indian, middle eastern, brazilian, techno/industrial, and a dash of free jazz. The CDs eight tunes takes the listener through a musical adventure and leaves them wanting to hear more.
