Relentlessly prolific composer Rob Reddy has been presenting his own New American Music, honing his original voice, since he debuted the Rob Reddy Trio with Reggie Workman and Pheeroan AkLaff in 1989, after cutting his teeth touring with Ronald Shannon Jackson's Decoding Society. Reddy has consistently navigated new ways to present his music, from trio to eighteen-piece ensemble, drawing from a large pool of creative musicians whose distinct sounds and strengths become an integral component to his presentation. Reddy's music is anchored around melody and rooted in the American folk forms: Blues, Gospel, Folk, Country and early to avant jazz, and has proven to be one of the most original and unique attempts to try to take on what all of the American musical landscapes have to offer. “Reddy draws on concepts and pallettes of the AACM, way-post bop, and anything-goes downtown movements, alluding to the mainstream in the course of embracing diverse possibilities." - Howard Mandel, Jazziz.

To mark the release of Reddy's fourth recording, “Seeing By The Light Of My Own Candle" (KFR), he will be taking over the Knitting Factory's Old Office on four consecutive Tuesdays, beginning July 24. True to restless form, he will present a different ensemble each week. The first two nights will be premiere performances of two brand new ensembles. Nights three and four will be with two existing favorites . . .
