Cleveland Jazz Orchestra to Pay Tribute to the Kings of Swing

The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra will perform a tribute concert to the Kings of Swing featuring Cleveland Pops Music Director Carl Topilow. Topilow will perform Artie Shaw's Clarinet Concerto as part of the evening's festivities.

The concert will be held of Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 8pm at the Fairmount Temple Auditorium in Beachwood, Ohio. The Cleveland Music School Settlement Jazz Orchestra will open the show at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $25 at the door, $20 in advance and $15 for seniors over age 62. Call the CJO Ticket Line at 216-521-2540 to order.

The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra is Northeast Ohio's premiere jazz orchestra in existence for almost 25 years. Led by Artistic Director Jack Schantz, the CJO endeavors to promote jazz, in historical and contemporary fashion, through concerts performed by unique gatherings of jazz musicians, arrangers, composers and educators in northeast Ohio. The CJO aims for worldwide recognition and, in concert with famous guest artists, dreams of shepherding young musicians and their followers toward the future of jazz. The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization.
