Montreal- based Christine Jensen will be featuring her quartet for five nights at Toronto's Top O' The Senator as part of her cross-Canada Fall Tour. She is accompanied by some of Canada's finest jazz talents, including Fraser Hollins on acoustic bass, and Greg Ritchie on the drums. She is excited to feature special guest Jon Cowherd (Brian Blade Fellowship/Lizz Wright) from New York on piano.

“When Jensen and her quartet put in an exciting date at the Yardbird on Friday it was hard to say which was stronger; the close-knit communication of the players, or the imaginative original tunes from Jensen that inspired them. Either way, Jensen is a leader to watch." - Roger Levesque, The Edmonton Sun, 09/26/04

“...a set list of original pieces blessed with long soaring, melodies and shifting substructures that push, pull and probe gently at various modern notions about jazz composition advanced by Maria Schneider, Wayne Shorter and Kenny Wheeler. It's a growing body of work that marks Jensen as one of the most important Canadian composers of her generation..." - Mark Miller, The Globe and Mail

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
