More than the sights, sounds, and smells, the spirit of New Orleans lives on in its music, which will be very much alive for Jazz Fest 2006 later this month, one of the first big events taking place in the city after the hurricane disaster.

Grammy-nominated singer Chris Isaak and FINE LIVING network will be your personal guide to this year's Jazz Fest, on a special premiering on April 23. Viewers can get a sneak peek of Chris Isaak's Guide To Jazz Fest by visiting FineLiving.com for video exclusives and more on Jazz Fest. Tips on New Orleans restaurants and chefs will be available, as well as notes on hotels, museums and attractions, special cultural events, shopping, night clubs, and music clubs - and of course, Cajun recipes and drinks. In the exclusives, Isaak shares his personal reflections on the city of New Orleans and its culture, his take on meeting legends Buddy Guy and Dave Bartholomew, and his thoughts on rebuilding New Orleans.

When asked what visitors should do, Isaak recommends: “When you go to New Orleans, bring a fork with you because you are going to eat as you walk down the street!"

“People talk about the healing power of music, and I have seen it. There is something to music, it brings people's spirits up, and in New Orleans I hope they're going to get that music going again," says Isaak on FineLiving.com's video exclusive. “New Orleans is a town built on the concept of partying, food, good times, and I think right away they gotta do what they do. Now more than ever what they need is people to go back, bring some money, buy something to eat - put them back on the map."

Originally taped before the hurricane disaster last year, the FINE LIVING network updated this special to fit in with this year's Jazz Fest. The new version features Isaak's own thoughts and initial reactions to the devastation in New Orleans.

“We had just been there filming not that long ago, and I was thinking it's just so unique that if we lose it, we don't have another one," Isaak comments in the online-exclusive videos. “When I was watching the news, I was really worried about Fats Domino. They said they couldn't find Fats Domino, and I love Fats Domino and I'm thinking 'How can that be? How can you not know where Fats Domino is? Go find him'. And I was very happy that he came out okay."

Also on FineLiving.com, Isaak fans will also be treated to the scoop on his personal musical influences and details on his new CD / DVD due out May 9th.

Chris Isaak's Guide To Jazz Fest will premiere on FINE LIVING on April 23 at 8pm ET, and will re-air April 29 at 8pm ET.
