Chris Bakriges Curates Series at Miles' Jazz Cafe in Midtown, New York
Pianist, composer, educator Dr. Chris Bakriges discovers ways to generate interest in jazz with under-served constituencies. Chris heads the music curriculum at both Elms College in Massachusetts and the Putney School in Vermont. Offering pre-concert master classes and post-concert public discussions to both school's students, faculty and alumni is a way create both an enjoyable entertainment and educational experience. It's a marvelous way to align the jazz artist's academic role and their performance schedule in what normally feels like a separate endeavors," Chris says. This sort of programming also does honor to everyone involved in the production, including the club owners."
The concerts will feature Beldon Bullock, Marcus McLaurine, Rich Mollin, Dwayne Cook" Broadnax, plus a host of special guests.
