The Chihiro Yamanaka Trio featuring Bernard “Pretty" Purdie will present two Universal/Decca CD release concerts: June 22, 2011 at Regattabar (Cambridge, MA) and June 30, 2011 at Iridium Jazz Club (New York City.) At Iridium, Chihiro and Purdie will be joined by bassist Ben Williams.
Chihiro Yamanaka's latest CD, “Forever Begins" (Universal/Decca), her U.S. major label debut, was released in May, 2011. “Forever Begins" was first released in Japan (on Universal/Verve) in the fall of 2010, where it quickly ascended to #1 on the jazz charts. In April, 2011, it was released in Europe on Universal's EmArcy imprint. The CD features bassist Ben Williams and drummer Kendrick Scott.
