The Chihiro Yamanaka Trio will perform at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy on July 9, 2011.
Chihiro is opening for “Tribute to Miles" with Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Marcus Miller. The concert begins at 9 PM and is at the main stage at Arena Santa Giuliana.
Chihiro is on tour in the United States and Europe, and is celebrating the release of her new CD, “Forever Begins," including a European release in spring, 2011 on Universal Music's EmArcy label. “Forever Begins" was originally released in late 2010 in Japan on Universal/Verve and was the 10th consecutive CD by Chihiro to reach the #1 spot on the Japanese jazz charts.
