September 9, 2016: the Birthday of Sparrow! Joanie and Sparrow welcome everyone to celebrate Sparrow's birthday—with music and fun!

First Set: New York debut of “AMusical"

an all original work, in a one hour concert!
with special guest Bill Nolte as “The Narrator"

Second Set: Joanie and Sparrow duets
plus Bill Nolte with Deanna Witkowski and guests!

“AMusical" takes place in the present. John Grace, a composer of music and words, is experiencing an artistic catharsis. His musical “Book" has been unsuccessful in gaining a financial backer, and he is bitter. But “The Book" is taking on a magical life of its own. Each time “The Book" is opened, whoever is present is catapulted into a scene from AMusical. The songs are extensions of life, and love. “AMusical" is based on an actual street neighborhood in Chicago, North Southport Avenue, near Wrigley Field.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
