Manhattan Transfer vocalist and solo recording artist Cheryl Bentyne will perform music from her new recording “Let Me off Uptown” Wednesday, October 5th at Washington, D.C.’s premier jazz supper-club, Blues Alley.
Bentyne’s second solo release for Telarc, “Let Me off Uptown”, is a tribute album to jazz great Anita O’Day and has received considerable critical attention. A vocal powerhouse herself, Bentyne is known for her graceful interpretive abilities and vivacious performing style. At home with both intimate ballads and hard-swinging showstoppers, Bentyne is bound to leave audiences grinning.
