The internationally renowned Cheltenham Jazz Festival is to host its own dedicated radio station with Jazz Town FM available at 87.7 FM and worldwide online at www.fromheretoear.com

Broadcast live from an onsite radio station at The Cheltenham Town Hall, the one-week radio station provides exclusive live performances from Jazz Festival artists, festival news and interviews.

The station is in its second year of broadcast and is run by students from The University of Gloucestershire's Radio Production and Popular Music courses. Last year's broadcast saw interviews with Imelda May and live performances from Kit Downes Trio and with this year's lineup including Jamie Cullum and Hugh Laurie the station promises some more great content.

Executive Director of the Cheltenham Jazz Festival Ian George said “The station was a huge success last year and we were excited to hear that the University and students wanted to get involved again this year."

Robbie Pert Jazz Town FM station manger said “It's a fantastic opportunity to be involved with, it means that the festival can be listened to by Jazz fans all over the world."

Jazz Town FM can be heard on 87.7 FM and online at www.fromheretoear.com It will be available to listen to for the duration of the festival, which runs from Thursday 28th April to Monday 2nd May.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
