Charmaine Clamor, the Filipina Jazz Singing Sensation, in Final Los Angeles Appearance Until September!

Charmaine Clamor, the first Filipina to find success on American jazz radio, will close the critically-acclaimed Tasty Tuesdays concert series at Catalina Bar & Grill on May 22nd. Tasty Tuesdays have featured prestigious guest artists such as living legend and Tony- winner Linda Hopkins, #1 hit maker Deniece Williams, and Mark Winkler (composer of Lea Salonga's “Land of the Loving"). Ms. Clamor will be backed by Fox Sports television personality and renowned author, Michael Konik's Tasty Band.

Numerous Filipino fans discovered Clamor through her debut album, “Searching for the Soul," as well as her headlining appearances at the sold-out Filipino-American Jazz Festivals. On May 22nd, Charmaine Clamor will perform selections from her highly anticipated second album, called “Flippin' Out." The album will be released in September. For the first time in U.S. jazz history, mainstream audiences will be treated to jazz arrangements of beloved Filipino kundimans, as well as the American debut of a traditional Bisayan song, “Usahay." Critics are calling the mix of indigenous melodies and lyrics of the Philippines with the soul and swing of America “jazzipino." Los Angeles's own Charmaine Clamor is new genre's leading practitioner.

The Los Angeles Times calls Clamor, “An impressive new vocal artist, a first-rate jazz talent." And All About Jazz says, “Clamor could shake the musical world." Filipinos call her “one of our own."

Catalina Bar & Grill jazz club is located at 6725 Sunset Blvd. Hollywood, CA 90046. Reservations are highly encouraged: 323/466- 2210.
