Changamire Salutes Bearden will allure guests to the National Gallery of Art to tour the most comprehensive group of works by master African-American artist, Romare Bearden. Containing approximately 130 works, the exhibition includes pieces from the private collections of basketball player Grant Hill and Jazz musician Wynton Marsalis. A serious art collector herself, Changamire will extend the notion of being a private collector into the Zenith reception.
At Zenith Gallery, Washington notables expose their taste in art by allowing Changamire to give over 20 personal selections away as complementary gifts to lucky ticket holders. Jeannie Jones, WKYS-FM personality; Maureen Bunyan, ABC 7 news anchor; Marshall Keys, Jazz saxophonist; Van Niece Johnson, WJZW-FM personality; Paul W. Gardner II, Esq. and CEO of Young Lawyers Crunk Productions; Davey Yarborough, distinguished Jazz musician and educator; Ron Pinchback, program director of WPFW-FM; Shelby Jones, President of Urban Film Premiere; and Changamire will furnish gifts. Washington area galleries will complement these works with pieces representative of quality art that fill their walls daily, while items from the Corcoran Gallery and other museums continue to entice art acquisition. Acclaimed, national Urban artist Justin Bua and Nigerian painter Victor Ehikhamenor will also give away selections of their works.
In addition to all above, Changamire Salutes Bearden is also sponsored in part by L.A. Executive Services, YLCP.com, Mark Downs, Usual Suspectz, Urbanfilmpremiere.com, and NABFEME DC Network.
