Canon USA Inc, Unveils First-of-its-kind Crowd-Sourced Music Video for Herbie Hancock's Classic Song “Chameleon."

The Print-Inspired Music Video was Created using Canon's PIXMA PRO-1 Professional Inkjet Printer , a Product Unveiled at Canon's “Legends in Imaging" Event in October 2011

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y.—Canon U.S.A. Inc., a leader in digital imaging, collaborated with Herbie Hancock, a legendary recording artist, bandleader and icon of modern music, to launch a first-of-its-kind music video generated from 1,800 crowd-sourced images for Hancock's hit song “Chameleon." Hancock's special live performance at Canon's “Legends in Imaging" event on October 26, 2011, served as the backdrop and inspiration for the music video.

At the launch event, Canon invited guests to photograph 14-time Grammy® Award winner Hancock's performance of “Chameleon" using Canon EOS 5D MarkII & EOS 7D Digital SLR cameras. These high quality stills were printed with the new Canon PIXMA PRO-1 Professional Inkjet printer and edited together using time lapse and stop motion film production techniques. The photographs were then synched with a live audio recording of the performance to help create a stop-motion-style music video which will live on Canon's Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/CanonUSA.

Grey New York, Canon's agency partner for over thirty years, produced the music video. Alliance, the entertainment and lifestyle marketing division of Grey, is managing the partnership with Herbie Hancock and executing the public relations efforts.
