Café Noctambulo Is Proud To Present The Danny Lerman Experience With Special Guest, Turkish Guitarist Onder Focan on March 30th

Lerman returns to the Cafe directly from appearing at the Java Jazz Festival in Indonesia, this newest show will feature material from Danny’s three recordings, mixed with some favorites from the pop and classic songbook.
Musical Director/arranger/pianist is Tim Gant with Lee Thompson on Drums, Lavondo Thomas on Bass with special guest guitarist Onder Focan.

Danny Lerman is a riveting saxophonist and composer. Danny has studied with Junior Walker's legendary teacher, Charlie Atkins and at the music school of the University of North Texas and the Berklee School of Music as well as with Peter Ballin. Danny's CD’s, Danny’s Island/Chartmaker Jazz and Meow Baby/Lightyear/EMI earned stunning reviews, opening the door to international airplay, festivals and concerts in Finland, Venezuela, South Africa, The Netherlands, Turkey, Hong Kong, Mexico, Israel and the USA. Lerman has recorded and performed with Howard Hewett, Danny Boy, Bobby Lyle, Norman Connors and Jimmy Mngwandi.

Danny has performed with Peabo Bryson, Kevin Mahagony and Onder Focan, while having also recorded with Randy Brecker, Dave Valentin and Hubert Laws. Lerman has opened for Herbie Hancock, Michael Brecker, Sergio Mendes, Richard Elliot, David Benoit, Eric Marienthal, the Ghetto Boys and Joe Lovano. Danny has performed as a featured soloist with the South Bend Symphony and in Breda, Holland with members of the Metropole Orchestra.

Danny’s compositions have been featured in the movie soundtracks, Wedding Bell Blues and Kill Me Later as well as commercials for JD Powers.

Special Guest, Onder Focan, has been the artistic director of Nardis Jazz Club, where he organizes concerts for more than 315 musicians and accompanies them on stage every year. Some of these musicians are Benny Golson, Kurt Elling, Dianne Reeves, Al Foster, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Roy Haynes, Tierney Sutton, Kenny Drew Jr, Roseanne Vitro, Christian McBride, Roy Hargrove, Ron Carter and majority of top local musicians.

Onder has released 13 recordings, while also appearing in 94 festivals, while 43 have taken place in various cities in Turkey, the other 51 have been in other countries such as the USA, France, Germany, France, China, Malta, Italy, Brazil, Senegal, Finland, Australia, Jordan, Hungary, Switzerland, Croatia, Serbia, Cameroun, Estonia and many others.

Önder Focan uses and endorses Godin and Peerless Guitars, also AER alpha amps.

Lerman endorses Hamilton Stands and LASAX product.
