Praised by Jazztimes for the beauty of his tone and sound, along with the consistent quality of his writing and recordings," the bassist, bandleader, and composer Buster Williams has performed, recorded, and collaborated with jazz giants such as Art Blakey, Betty Carter, Chick Corea, Dexter Gordon, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, and Count Basie. Mr. Williams earned a Grammy in 1979, the Min-On Art Award, and the SGI Glory Award. He is also the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant, as well as a New York Foundations for the Arts Fellowship Grant.
