The international Telly Awards, which recognizes excellence in the film and video industries, has honored Jazzed Media with a 2008 Bronze award for the documentary film Bud Shank “Against the Tide". The documentary film was produced and directed by multi-Grammy nominated and award winning filmmaker Graham Carter, founder of Jazzed Media. Jazzed Media produces jazz CDs and documentary jazz films.

Bud Shank “Against the Tide" salutes legendary jazz alto saxophonist Bud Shank whose over 60 year career in jazz includes work with Charlie Barnet, Stan Kenton, Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse All-Stars, Laurindo Almeida, and The LA4.
The name Bud Shank is synonymous with West Coast jazz. He is credited as being the one of the first musicians to introduce the flute to jazz; he also was one of the key figures to introduce Central and South American sounds to the idiom, along with Laurindo Almeida in the early 1950s, which led to the formation of Bossa Nova a few years later.

The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web.
Since 1978, the Telly Awards mission has been to strengthen the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting, and supporting creativity. The 29th Annual Telly Awards received over 14,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents.

Jazzed Media, a jazz record label and film production company, was founded in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area in 2002.
