ALBANY, NY - On Sunday, July 14th, trumpeter and Fresh Sound New Talent recording artist Phil Grenadier
will join the Brian Patneaude Quartet
for a performance at Justin's Restaurant
(301 Lark St., Albany NY).
Brother of bassist Larry Grenadier, the Boston based musician has worked with a plethora of high profile jazz artists including Freddie Hubbard, Bob Belden, Chris Potter, Richie Beirach, Terumasa Hino, Mulgrew Miller, Billy Hart, The Bob Nieske 3, The Matt Gordy Quartet, The Allan Chase Quartet, Bruno Raberg Autotelics, The Phill Argyris Quintet, and The Melissa Kassel Quintet. Grenadier has appeared on multiple recordings as a sideman and has recently released his debut CD as a leader entitled Sweet Transients" (Fresh Sound New Talent). The recording features this year's Monk Saxophone Competition winner Seamus Blake, rising piano star Ethan Iverson, bassist brother Larry Grenadier, and drummer extraordinaire Bill Stewart.
The Brian Patneaude Quartet is in the midst of a Sunday night residency at Justin's in upstate New York. Saxophonist Patneaude is also a member of Grammy-semi finalists Alex Torres y Los Reyes Latinos, The Empire Jazz Orchestra and the Albany based R&B band The Refrigerators. Rounding out the quartet on Sunday will be George Muscatello (guitar), Ryan Lukas (acoustic bass) & Danny Whelchel (drums)
