The Jazz Bridge First Thursdays Neighborhood Concerts Series at the Collingswood Community Center, 30 East Collings Avenue in Collingswood NJ, presents the Brazilian jazz of Minas on Thursday, April 3rd. Formed in 1978 by guitarist and composer Orlando Haddad and singer/pianist/composer Patricia Haddad King, Minas now enters its forth decade as one of the most in-demand, consistently entertaining and inventive groups on the jazz scene, combining Brazilian and American roots to create a sound that is fresh and innovative, from ballads and bossa nova to sambas and straight-ahead scat singing. Individually and collectively, King and Haddad have written and recorded more than 100 impressive songs.
