Bob Sheppard Quartet Plays Live March 19th New Jazz Room

Bob Sheppard will perform with his quartet including Peter Erskine (drums),Larry Koonse (gtr) and Darek Oles(bass) this Thursday March 19th Upstairs at Vitello's new Jazz room in Studio City, Ca.

Bob Sheppard is acknowledged for his inspiring musical spontaneity, his dramatic playing style is supported by an expressive warm and centered tone that fluctuates through tonal ranges of dark intensity to lyrical sensitivity. These attributes combined with his keen musical intuition, make him a desirable and creative collaborator who accents performances with his own personal twist.

Recordin 100's of films and recordings, Bob also is currently a member of The Peter Erskine Trio, he has also toured with Chick Corea's “Origin" for two years and is featured on Chick Corea's Grammy nominated CD, Change.

Over the past 20 years he has performed and maintained many of his associations and on-going collaborations with the following artists: Freddie Hubbard, Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, Horace Silver, Lyle Mays, Toshiko Akiyoshi/Lew Tabackin Big Band, Billy Childs, and Nat Adderley. His versatile musicianship has extended to Pop CDs with Steely Dan, Rickie Lee Jones, Manhattan Transfer, Burt Bacharach, Elvis Costello, and Randy Newman including jazz CDs with artists Scott Henderson, Michael Franks, Andy Laverne, John Beasley, Otmoro Ruiz, Terry Trotter, vocalist Kurt Elling, Marilyn Scott, and Diane Reeves.
