BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, the longest operating performance venue in lower Manhattan, proudly presents the Eli Yamin Blues Band
performing on Friday, October 26 at 8PM. The band will kick off our annual Tribeca Spotlight series, The Next Voice You Hear, with its debut recording, I Feel So Glad and a number of other rich and culturally insightful tunes off the newly minted album. Exploring a range of sounds, the Eli Yamin Blues Band’s music touches on spiritual, classical, bebop and folk genres blending together a creation of powerful and healing blues music—sounds that have been known to bring together people from a multitude of diverse backgrounds. For this concert, the band will feature violinist and vocalist Mazz Swift along with longtime band members Bob Stewart on tuba, LaFrae Sci, drums and vocals and Eli Yamin, piano and vocals and introduce a new collaboration with The Okra Dance Company.
The band will also include a special salute to Daniel Pearl World Music Days, embracing the power of music to bridge cultures and increase mutual understanding and trust.
The Eli Yamin Blues Band will delight and unite the Tribeca audience with blues music sounds that can be described as both “fiery and brassy” and “quiet and curing.” The band’s performance will certainly be a treat for those “true-blue” blues music lovers.
