Berklee Rainbow Band Directed By Phil Wilson Presents "A Woddy Herman Celebration"

BOSTON: On the heels of their recent performance at the Hollywood Bowl for “Autumn Eve - a Tribute to Woody Herman" which was filmed for PBS, internationally-acclaimed jazz trombonist Phil Wilson and the Berklee College of Music Rainbow Band will present a concert celebrating the music of the late big band leader Woody Herman on Tuesday, December 3, at 8:15 p.m. at the wheelchair-accessible Berklee Performance Center, 130 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston. Tickets are $5.00 -- $2.00 for seniors -- and are available at the Performance Center box office, 617-747-2261. The evening of big band jazz and standard tunes arranged by Phil Wilson, who is a former member of the Woody Herman Orchestra, will feature saxophonist and Professor Emeritus Andy McGhee, another Woody Herman alum who performed at the tribute concert in Hollywood. Also featured that night will be vocalist Alisa Miles, vocalist/trumpeter Christine Fawson, and the jazz vocal group Syncopation, which recently returned from a tour of Japan.
