The Duke Ellington Jazz Festival is proud to present Benito Gonzalez at The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage at 6pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Puerto Rican pianist and composer, Benito Gonzalez, is turning heads for his critically acclaimed debut album, Starting Point" (featuring Christian McBride, Antonio Sanchez, Rene McLean, and Ron Blake), and as the winner of the 2005 Great American Jazz Piano Competition. Gonzalez's music originates from an enticing fusion of traditional jazz, Latin, and world rhythms sure to impress any lover of jazz. Joining Benito this evening will be Essiet Essiet on bass and Jeff Tain" Watts on drums.
