Mobile's music festival is ready to rock the streets of downtown Mobile October 3, 4 & 5 2008! Now in its 14th year, BayFest draws some of the best classic rock, country, alternative, R&B and other musical entertainers to 9 stages during a 3-day and night festival.

BayFest kicked up its heels for the first act announcement of 2008. Country stars Rodney Atkins, Blake Shelton, and Eric Church are set to appear on the at&t/IP Casino Stage on Sunday, October 5. Church's show begins at 4:00 p.m., followed by Shelton at 5:30 p.m. and Atkins at 7:15 p.m. All of this takes place in characteristically cool and comfortable weather on the streets of newly revitalized downtown Mobile. Festival-goers stroll among historic buildings and through parks in a site that is directly adjacent to the city's entertainment district while BayFest's nine stages offer continuous music for every taste including jazz, Cajun, reggae, folk, gospel and more. One of the festival's stages, The Launching Pad, is specifically designed for musicians working their way up in the music business. Another BayFest highlight is the family stage and extensive children's activity area, which garners rave reviews all its own. Weekend passes will be available August 1, 2008 for $35 at www.BayFest.com. Tickets will also be available at designated ticket outlets in September. One day passes can be purchased at the gate for $25. Children 12 and under get in free when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
