The Jazz Summit Concert brings together three Bay Area jazz ensembles for an evening of big band jazz.

The Netivot Shalom Jazz/Klez band is 10 piece ensemble under the direction of clarinetist, Rabbi Stuart Kelman. The Albany Jazz Big Band is a 25 piece big band from the Albany Unified School District Adult School. Under the direction of Bob Levenson, the band features many fine instrumental and vocal soloists. Under the direction of renowned saxophonist and band leader Dave Le Febvre, the Jazzschool Adult Big Band is a stellar 18 piece ensemble with some of the Bay Area's finest composers, arrangers and world-class soloists.

Dan Siegel, co-organizer of the Jazz Summit, states, “This event is an opportunity to bring together in one concert not only the Albany Big Band, in which co-organizer Rabbi Stuart Kelman plays, and the Jazzschool Adult Big Band, of which I'm a member, but also the Jazz-Klez Band that we both play in at Congregation Netivot Shalom. For sake of variety, the synagogue band will open the evening with a short klezmer set before the Albany and Jazzschool bands each do full sets of contemporary and classic big band jazz."
