Award-Winning Vocalist Nicole Henry Performs at the DAKOTA Jazz Bar in Minneapolis on Thursday, December 1

On Thursday, December 1 at 7:00pm, Nicole Henry will hold her Minneapolis debut performance at the celebrated downtown jazz bar and restaurant, DAKOTA, 1010 Nicollet Avenue, Minneapolis, MN (612) 332- 1010.

Described as “One of the most impressive live performers to polish up the great American Songbook," Nicole Henry's last four months of touring have included Mexico, London, Korea, Japan, D.C, New York and her home base, south Florida.

Cadence Magazine defined her debut CD The Nearness of You, as “enough to establish her as a superb vocal thespian." In the U.S. this CD reached #27 at JazzWeek radio, and in Japan, it ranked #2 to Norah Jones in vocal jazz sales, staying at the top 10 for over three months. Named “Best New Jazz Artist of 2004" by HMV/Japan, Nicole's 2005 CD release with the Eddie Higgins Trio, Teach Me Tonight spent three weeks at #1 on their Vocal Jazz Charts.

Since her debut release, she has also performed at the Rainbow Room with the Cab Calloway Orchestra, at the Democratic National Convention, and the Lincoln Center with the Juilliard Jazz Octet, and more. She's shared the stage with such greats as Nicholas Peyton, Eric Alexander, Kenny Werner, Duffy Jackson, Tom Scott, Isaac Hayes, Roberta Flack and Johnny O'Neal. “She has a potent voice, and her interpretive sense is sharp and distinctive," Billboard.
