Seth Walker swings, rocks, boogies, and plays low down blues all in one set, all on one record. He's a great singer, and authentic performer of real American music, and he's writing new classics. Don't miss a chance to hear Seth. In person or on record, he's the real deal."
- Marcia Ball

“This young man is pure talent, a masterful blues guitarist, a singer with swing in his voice and a writer whose originals such as “Gone Before I Knew It" and “2' Left to the Ceiling" sound less composed than unleashed."
- Austin American Statesman

Brooklyn, NY - Seth Walker is a different point of blue in American music. His songwriting draws from the entire spectrum of the roots canon and infuses it with a wellspring of authentic Southern soul. It would feel just right hearing Walker between Ollabelle on one side and Derek Trucks on the other. Based out of Austin, Texas, he's become a shining light on a local scene where only the real thing stands a chance to thrive. It's fitting then that Walker has signed with HYENA Records, the independent label who've built a genre-eclectic roster in which superlative artistry, first and foremost, serves as the unifying thread. On October 23, HYENA will release Walker's new self-titled album worldwide.

Seth Walker's 11-track collection spills over with down home grit and feeling. Tunes like “Change My Way" and “Gone Before I Knew It" are steeped in Texas-soaked guitar boogie. Simultaneously, he can turn around and deliver tasty country soul on songs like “Steady," “2 Feet Left From The Ceiling" and “Sun Down." The North Carolina born-and-raised musician, who grew up on a hippie commune, also showcases a penchant for interpreting the work of other great songwriters. His solo piano-vocal rendition of Tom Waits' “Picture In A Frame" is quite simply gorgeous. On the James Hunter-penned number “Kick It Around," he turns out the kind of stinging blues licks and tough vocals that have earned him praise from artists like Delbert McClinton, Johnny Winter, Dale Watson and Marcia Ball.

The archetype for the working musician who shines brightest in the live setting, Seth Walker will hit the road behind his latest release with tour dates in the Southern US throughout the remainder of 2007. Plans are already in the works to play the rest of North America and Europe in 2008.

The truth of the matter is Seth Walker is an artist who is here to stay. He'll be making records, touring the world and singing his songs with as much conviction and heart as there is to give now and always. Count on it.
