ArtistData, Nearly Four Million Updates In, Opens Development Platform

ArtistData, a direct-to-fan services and marketing platform thats helped dozens of labels and artist managers disseminate information about their artists, is poised for some major expansion.

The core idea behind ArtistData is synchronization. Instead of having to manually log into Facebook, MySpace, Purevolume, Sonicbids and so on to add relevant information about gigs or releases, ArtistData allows its 25,000+ users to log into a dashboard, enter the information once, and have it automatically added to any of the 28 sites they've partnered with.

The site offers this service for free, but there are also priced options that include features like XML feeds of artists activity and the ability to contact local media outlets prior to gigs in a new city.

These features, called Tools or Apps, also available individually, so users who want access to the Alert Local Media app included in the Platinum Package can buy it for $4.99 per month instead of paying $24.99 per month for the rest of that packages features.
