Who is TK Blue?
Saxophonist/Flutist/Composer T.K. Blue's musical exploits, on the bandstand and in the recording studio, shout and scream artist deserving wider recognition. He is among a class of seasoned, vital, and potent jazz artists who straddle the fence between emerging and veteran talent. Bathed in post-bebop, Blue leavens that foundation with a broad sense of melody, rhythm, and harmony that reflects his many travels and auspicious stopovers on the road to jazz mastery, which he is most assuredly traveling. Find out more at www.tkblue.com TK and Arkadia Records
The first album Blue released with Arkadia in 1999 was Another Blue (Arkadia 70351), an all-acoustic session featuring an impressive collection of jazz stars who have intersected with the leader during his twenty-plus years as an active, vital performer. guests on this stirring session include Randy Weston, Eddie Henderson, and Onaje Allan Gumbs. In Blue's second CD with Arkadia Jazz entitled Eyes of the Elders (Arkadia 70352), TK brings a hard-earned ancient-to-the-future sensibility to a program of wholly contemporary material. He is joined on this outing by an ensemble of all-star team players that span three generations, including Stefon Harris, Randy Brecker, Eric Reed, Lonnie Plaxico, Jeff Tain" Watts, James Weidman, Joanne Brackeen, and Steve Kroon.
