Archie Shepp launches a Kickstarter campaign to finalize funding on a new Attica Blues Band live album recording. Forty years after his masterpiece Attica Blues, recorded with a big band of 39 musicians and in which he highlights social injustices faced by African Americans, Shepp returns with a brand new big band composed of 26 musicians (young and experienced) from France and the United States to transmit his values to the new generation.

The new big band will record a historic live album, composed of original titles and new compositions, through Archie Shepp's Paris-based independent label Archieball and is looking for the support of jazz fans around the world to make the project a reality.

The Kickstarter campaign ends on June 23, 2013 and features amazing rewards for the different levels of pledging. Most importantly, contributors will support independent jazz creation and help promote young jazz talents!
