New York, NY: Master tenor saxophonist and internationally recognized jazz artist Andres Boiarsky is thrilled to announce the release of his new album Crosstalk, his first solo recording since 1997 after a long string of collaborative work. Released onOne Trick Dog Records, the album showcases an accomplished musician at the height of his craft. Crosstalk travels a wide emotional and musical spectrum ranging from straight-ahead jazz with a 70's flair, to world music born out of the unique synthesis of Boiarsky's years spent living in China and Latin America. From compelling originals such as the seductively immersive “Cool You!” or the vibrantly rhythmic “Instant Combustion,” to distinctive interpretations of classics such as Chick Corea's “High Wire – The Aerialist,”Andres's refined style ties together an eclectic variety of genres and themes into a cohesive whole.

Boiarsky's unique connection with Chinese music and culture is also evident in his poignant, delicate arrangement of the seminal classic of modern popular Chinese music: “The Moon Represents My Heart," featuring its original Chinese lyrics sung by Erica Lee. Erica also contributes as a composer and vocalist to the track “The Chase," a neo-soul influenced composition augmented by the stellar musicianship of Andres and his talented bandmates. The recording is a musical tour- de-force that clearly defines Boiarsky as an accomplished composer and major jazz artist.

Crosstalk features an ensemble of renowned international musicians, including Roy Assaf (piano), Ed Cherry (guitar), Tommy Campbell (drums) and Curtis Ostle (bass). The album is currently available on bandcamp.com and CDBaby.com, and will be available from iTunes, Amazon and other online music vendors.

As one of the most versatile and highly trained reed players of his generation, Andres Boiarsky brings a wealth of experience to his craft as a sideman and leader in the jazz world. From his home in Buenos Aires to the Royal College of Music to his tenure as the director of the Lionel Hampton Orchestra and beyond, Andres has already compiled an impressive body of work. His many recordings with SlideHampton, Nancy Wilson, the Dizzy Gillespie All Stars, Paquito D'Rivera, Jimmy Heath, Claudio Roditi and Al Di Meola, to name but a few, illustrates his breadth as an artist in the international jazz scene over the course of the last several decades. Andres has lived and performed in SouthAmerica, Europe and China, and has appeared at the most prestigious jazz festivals and venues the world over.
