The Andre Canniere Group, formed in early 2005, has been creating a storm in New York's modern jazz scene. They perform challenging yet accessible music full of evocative harmonic explorations and complex rhythms, complemented by thoughtful improvisation. Much of the music, all of which is composed by Canniere, is rooted in jazz, but also draws heavily upon other genres including pop, classical and folk music. This first album is the culmination of the group's first year together, and includes live as well as studio recordings. It will be available on February 16th, 2006 and the CD release party is on March 23rd at Jimmy's Restaurant in New York City.
