AMPHIS-BAENA (pronounced am-fis bay-nuh) performs distinctive, creative music that blends elements of Scandinavian Pop, Improvisation, and Electronica. The bands' innovative use of electronics creates stunning aural landscapes and ambient textures. The members of Amphis-Baena met while studying at the New England Conservatory, and have performed/recorded with John Scofield, Ralph Alessi, and Dr. Lonnie Smith among others. They have performed at New York's Knitting Factory and Ryles Jazz Club in Boston as well as many other venues throughout the East Coast.
