Jazz and Salsa luminaries will meet on November 6, 2004 to pay tribute to one of the music worldís most talented, prolific and selfless artists, the late pianist Charlie Palmieri, in New York Cityís most prestigious concert hall, Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
The Tribute to Charlie Palmieri concert is part of the Annual Benefit for Global Arts & Culture Series, a fundraising effort by the Multicultural Music Group, Inc. (MMG). MMG is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 that provides free music education and training to inner city youth in NYC.
An all-star line-up of Jazz and Salsa performers, including Grammy Award winners Eddie Palmieri (MMG's Honorary Chairman), Ray Santos, and Giovanni Hidalgo, as well as Jose Cheo" Feliciano, Mario Rivera, Jimmy Bosch, Alfredo de la Fe, Bobby Porcelli, Kevin Bryan, John Walsh and many others, will unite to pay tribute to the late Charlie Palmieri. The MMG Orchestra is a multicultural symphonic orchestra made up of 25 professional musicians with amazing improvisational skills and a classical, Latin, world music and jazz repertoire.
