Adopt a Musician page and help All About Jazz build the most comprehensive jazz musician directory on the internet.
All About Jazz is home to over 114,000 musician pages and it's our goal to create a page for every jazz musician on the planet. Some musician pages are complete and fully up to date (great!), while others are incomplete or out of date (not great!).

We're looking for musicians, publicists, managers, family members, spouses, or knowledgeable fans to help us maintain our musician pages. From national and international figures (living and deceased) to local legends, please join All About Jazz on our quest to build the most comprehensive jazz musician database on the internet for all to enjoy.

I want to help, but what's involved and how long will it take?

Musician pages can be updated at any time, and like Wikipedia, can be maintained by multiple administrators. Ideally, a page contains a thumbnail image, an instrument designation, a biography (which can be pulled from the musician's website or from their Wikipedia page), photos, videos, albums, audio players, events, and links. Events are typically uploaded to Jazz Near You by a musician, a presenter, a venue representative or a ticketing service.

Musician pages can be completed over time or in one session. It typically takes 30 minutes to fully update a musician page.

Getting started

Simply search the website (click the magnifying glass icon on the navigation bar), enter the musician's name in the box and click SEARCH. With over 1000,000 pages, there's a good chance you'll find the musician in your search results. If so, click the musician's name, then click the green “Claim Page" button to request update access. If you do not see the musician's name in the search results, click the “Create Page" link and start from scratch.

If the page already exists, you'll need to await All About Jazz's approval, which may take up to 24 hours. Once you receive your confirmation email, follow the link to complete the page. When returning to the page, click the blue Update Page button on the right to access the update form.

Power Admins Wanted

We appreciate any help with our musician pages, but please feel free to claim and maintain more than one. You can also help us update date of deaths when it is discovered and verified. We hope to create a community of power admins to occasionally meet to discuss ways to improve a musician page and the musician section.

Musician?

Musicians are strongly encourages to claim their existing page page or create a new one. The standard musician page is free. A premium musician page service (described here) is $50/year. We also encourage you to read our musician page primer before you start.

All About Jazz needs your support

Donate
All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
