Telluride, CO / New Orleans, LA -- Trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie saw many magnificent sights in his role as a cultural ambassador, yet in 1977 when he arrived at the inaugural Telluride Jazz Celebration he exclaimed: “If this ain't paradise, heaven can wait." World class musical programming -- presented in a spectacular Alpine setting offering an extraordinary selection of outdoor activities -- has established the Telluride Jazz Celebration as one of the most distinctive annual events on the global summer music festival circuit.

WWOZ, New Orleans' Jazz & Heritage Station, will be sending two of their Guardians of the Groove -- on-air host Scott Borne and Program Director Dwayne Breashears -- from sea level to almost 9000 feet above to host the weekend-long live broadcast August 2nd through 5th from The John Scofield Town Park Stage at the 2007 Telluride Jazz Celebration, the 31st edition of the event.

WWOZ's live broadcast of the 2007 Telluride Jazz Celebration is made possible by a generous sponsorship by 528 Music Club on Fulton Street in New Orleans.

To experience the Telluride Jazz Celebration “live" listen on the air (90.7 in metro New Orleans), online at www.wwoz.org or take advantage of special travel and lodging packages being offered by calling 877-443-1842.
