2ND ANNUAL LIBERTY JAZZ FESTIVAL SET FOR SEPTEMBER 8-9 WITH A WORLD-CLASS LINEUP IN A SPECTACULAR VENUE TO WOW CONCERT GOERS

Music and outdoors lovers are urged to grab their sunglasses and head out to the second annual Liberty Jazz Festival where they can enjoy truly enjoy hot music in one of the most beautiful settings in the world.

The two-day Star-Ledger CD101.9 Liberty Jazz Festival presented by RBC Dain Rauscher features a world-class lineup September 8-9, 2007 at Liberty State Park's Green Ring in Jersey City with the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as backdrops. Grammy winners George Benson, Branford Marsalis, Chuck Mangione, and Christian McBride head a list of a dozen performers scheduled for this year's concert.

“As thousands of jazz and music fans witnessed last year, the Green Ring in Liberty State Park is an unbelievable setting for an outdoor concert," said Howard Freeman of Promo 1, who is producing the Festival along with Kent Coules of Everything Jersey Events. “We're equally proud of the amazing lineup of performers we have lined up again this year. It's a great two days and a truly unique concert experience you don't want to miss."

“Our goal is to produce more than just a concert, we want the Liberty Jazz Festival to become a destination jazz festival to attend every year," said Coules. “Liberty State Park is a star attraction in its own right especially with our performers playing in front of the Statue of Liberty. Our partnership with CD101.9 allows us to offer smooth jazz aficionados the best jazz artists in the world."

As 2006 proved, it's not just the views that will attract concert-goers. The 2nd annual Liberty Jazz Festival's world-class list of performers is as impressive as the world-renowned landmarks behind it.

Benson, Mangione, McBride, saxophonist Euge Groove and the Guitars & Saxes Tour featuring Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, Tim Bowman and Jeff Golub are scheduled to perform on Saturday, Sept. 8 between 12:00 noon-10:00 p.m.

Marsalis, Clint Eastwood's son Kyle Eastwood, guitarist Gil Parris and award-winning saxophonist Joshua Redman are among the artists scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 9 between 12:00 noon and 8:00 p.m.

Festival attendees can bring their own blankets and chairs for lawn seating or can purchase reserved premium seating near the stage with access to a VIP tent with separate food service and restroom availability. Tickets can be purchased for single or two-day admission and range from $44.50-$115.00. VIP seating is on a first come basis. In addition to the music, there will also be a variety of food and beverage vendors, crafts, and exhibits at the Festival. Parking is convenient with additional shuttle bus service availability.

A portion of the proceeds from the Liberty Jazz Festival will benefit the Friends of Liberty State Park, an all-volunteer organization whose mission is to protect, beautify and promote the 1,122 acre Park. They will set up an “eco-village" to educate people about Liberty State Park, which opened in 1976. LSP offers special views, open spaces, and is home to the Grove of Remembrance, New Jersey's official 9/11 Memorial, waterfront Liberty Walk, CRRNJ Terminal, Interpretive (nature) Center, and the Liberty Science Center.

Liberty State Park's Green Ring is located off of exit 14B on the New Jersey Turnpike and is accessible via mass transit from New York City from the PATH trains into Exchange Place in Jersey City and the Light Rail into Liberty State Park.
