Drummer Mark Ferber, whose latest recording with the Alan Ferber Nonet, Scenes From An Exit Row," exhibits his innovative and rich drum stylings, has distinguished himself on both coasts in live performances and recordings. When “Santa Baby” composer Phil Springer first heard Sarah Lynch sing, he likened her vocal quality to that of a trombone; Springer was the first to call Lynch “a young Peggy Lee” and went on to use her on tunes he penned in the ‘40s but had not yet recorded. You can hear Sarah Lynch apply this 1940s sass and sensibility to her fresh take on forgotten standards, as well as on her original tunes.
