While December is typically a slow time for new releases since most labels have released everything for the holiday season by this time, approximately 150 new entries were placed into the AAJ Upcoming Jazz Release Center today.

Some labels are already announcing new releases due out as far as April, 2007, so it's definitely worth checking out the updated Center, as there are new releases due from artists including Onaje Allan Gumbs, Soft Mountain (a free improvising quartet featuring ex-Soft Machine members Hugh Hopper and the late Elton Dean), Enrico Rava, Adam Rogers, David Binney, Seamus Blake, Jane Monheit and Kurt Elling.

There are also some exciting concert DVDs on the horizon by artists including Jaco Pastorius, Carlos Santana/Wayne Shorter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Bill Evans and B.B. King.

The Upcoming Jazz Release Center is normally updated twice a month, though plans are in the work to have it updated more frequently and include even more entries than before in 2007.

So check out the AAJ Upcoming Jazz Release Center today!

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
