Zach Brock is joined by his group, The Coffee Achievers, which includes Sam Barsh on piano, Matt Wigton on bass, and Jon Deitemyer on drums. Jazz fans worldwide know Sam Barsh for his tenure in the recent groups of bassist Avishai Cohen.
While on tour, The Coffee Achievers will record their third CD in a series of live sets at The Jazz Factory in Louisville, KY. This will be the first Coffee Achievers recording to feature compositions by all members of the band. Currently slated for distribution in the summer, the new recording will also be the first national release ever recorded at The Jazz Factory.
Zach Brock has given Smithsonian-sponsored lectures on early American jazz violin pioneers, appeared as a guest soloist with William Russo and The Chicago Jazz Ensemble, performed at the Kennedy Center with the Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead residency, produced and recorded three CDs on Secret Fort and Delmark Records, and performed with the Coffee Achievers at Carnegie Hall as part of the Dave Douglas Jazz Workshop in Performance."
In October 2005, Zach was featured in a Downbeat Magazine Players Profile" column and was later listed as a Rising Star" in the magazine's venerable reader's poll.
In September 2006, Zach Brock and his band performed at the Tudo Jazz Festival in Brazil as part of a roster that included Dave Holland, Kurt Elling, and Toninho Horta, and in October 2006, Zach performed with Alice and Ravi Coltrane, Reggie Workman, and Jack DeJohnette as part of Alice Coltrane's Translinear Light" concert.
Zach's film credits include performances on the soundtrack for Black Gold"; a feature- length documentary that premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and that has since received international distribution.
