The newly established record company Your Favourite Records offers an exciting programme during this summer's Copenhagen Jazz Festival. “The Finest In Young Danish Jazz" is what the company calls it's project which among others includes the winners of the Young Jazz Competition, 2007, EXIL.
Hot Young Jazz to Nrrebro During Copenhagen Jazz Festival there are not many offers on Nrrebro to jazz-lovers, but the record company Your Favourite Records has taken matters into their own hands and offers 50 DKR-partout cards to the finest in Young Danish jazz at Kaleidoskop/K1. “To our knowledge, there are no other places on Nrrebrogade that have jazz under festival; and it is quite crazy, when you look at the diversity of the street otherwise provide. In fact, I am already planning concerts for next year, it would be fantastic if it was a tradition," explains Lars Winther with a smile.
Jazzpianist Lars Winther started the company Your Favourite Records to release his own music, but in the past 8 months, it has reached a total of 8 releases - everything from jazz to rock. With support from Ben Webster Foundation, the Danish Confederation Music Artist and the Danish Confederation, he has now arranged 5 beautiful concerts during this summer's Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
Successful Collaboration
Kaf K1 by Kaleidoscope Theatre on Nrrebrogade supports the initiative. Co-owner of the caf, Claes Cem, has released his own album on Your Favourite Records with the band Captain Mirage, therefore yet another successful collaboration was an obvious choice - a collaboration that is offering great concerts to jazz-lovers. The concerts will be held in the pleasant Kaleidoscope theatre, and start all evenings at. 20.30. The price is kept to a minimum, because Lars Winther believes that jazz needs be accessible to as many people as possible, when there are not more jazz events at Nrrebro. One concert will cost 25, - and a partout card for all 5 concerts will cost 50 DKR. “We hope that with joint efforts, to be able to attract as many people as possible over during the 5 days we have concerts. There is of course good prices on all YFR-releases, as well as fabulous cool drinks in the caf - so there is every reason to come by the Kaleidoskop/K1 this summer - Hot young Jazz and cool drinks!"

An international audience has already shown interest in the record company and Lars Winther exports his own releases to Japan, a contact he hopes to use as a stepping stone for the other artists on the records label. There are also promising contacts with distributors in other countries and perhaps the hot jazz on Nrrebro has the potential to lead to even more promising deals for the small record label with big dreams.
