Philadelphia's flagship jazz radio station has collaborated with Jazz Near You to support livestreaming artists.
Jazz Near You's effort to promote livestream jazz events has received an added boost thanks to a collaboration with WRTI 90.1 FM in Philadelphia. In addition to accessing livestream events from the Jazz Near You website, the weekly Jazz Near You newsletter, the Jazz Near You app, and from external websites & blogs that embed the Jazz Near You livestream calendar widget and feed, WRTI will use the Jazz Near You's livestream calendar to promote the events that are uploaded to the website.

Maureen Malloy, Jazz Music Director at WRTI adds, “We are all currently navigating new terrain, and we want to support our local jazz artists who aren’t able to work. Live streams have become the new concert, and this collaboration is a great way to champion musicians from Philadelphia and beyond while helping them to create a virtual audience.”

How to upload a livestream event to Jazz Near You

  • Go to the event submission form. (note: you can access the event submission form from a musician page or from a venue page);
  • WHO step: If you are presenting a livestream from your home, select the “Home Concert" type, otherwise, use the default, “Live Performance";
  • WHERE step: Check the “This event will be live streamed" box. If it's a home concert, complete the city info (street address is not required) so Jazz Near You can also associate it with a region;
  • WHEN step: place the livestream link location in the “Ticket / Livestream link" box.
Once the information has been entered, click the green UPLOAD EVENT button and we'll take it from there.
