Featuring the JIM GASIOR TRIO

Now serving as the Interim Dean of Music at the New World School of the Arts, pianist/composer/Jazz educator, Jim Gasior, has been shaping musical careers for decades. His various student Jazz bands have been winning national awards for years, as well. Gasior has performed with a diverse list of international Pop artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Jose Feliciano, Little Richard and Smokey Robinson as well as Jazz legends Benny Golson, Slide Hampton, Donald Harrison and Arturo Sandoval. Even with this workload, Gasior still has time to perform and record his own multi-genre compositions. His latest recorded effort is Boy Meets Girl by Jazz/Pop vocalist Wendy Pedersen. We'll hear some of Gasior's originals performed by his trio comprised of the strong rhythm section of bassist Jamie Ousley and veteran South Florida drummer, John Yarling.

Please arrive by noon for a delicious lunch catered by Pollo Tropical. If you can't join us in the studio, please tune in worldwide on our Internet site at WLRN.Org at 1:00pm, EST on 7/16/10, for the broadcast.

This show is generously co-sponsored by Pollo Tropical and Friends of WLRN.
