The entire Jazz for Babies (JFB) music collection has already established a unique place in the world of parent & baby music by abandoning computer-produced, synthesized and mechanical sounding recordings, mobile toys and dreaded music boxes in favor of producing albums that feature creatively adapted music into calm and soothing lullabies recorded on real acoustic instruments and performed by world class musicians. And, all JFB albums feature splashes of melodic improvisation as well.
was inspired to create Jazz for Babies by an instinctive desire to expose his baby daughter Eliza to high quality baby music from the earliest age. Not being able to find such music of suitable quality on the market, he set about producing it himself.
All of the Jazz for Babies records are recorded live in a London studio with further post production sound-work undertaken by four time Grammy-nominated, NYC-based engineer Tyler McDiarmid, the WWR in-house sound guy, a long time musical associate & friend of Janisch’s (and a proud father of three). The results are masterfully produced albums that boast a pristine sound quality like no other baby music product anywhere in the world.
The albums are specifically designed and recorded so that the intricacies of all the beautiful instruments sound incredibly clear even at the low volumes you will wish to set to send your baby to sleep.
Parents, tired of the poorly considered recordings available on the market today, have longed for such music. Music that is sophisticated enough to engage and entertain them as well as being relaxing and calming enough to soothe and pacify their babies.
Finally, but just as importantly, Jazz for Babies albums have an ingredient that no other baby music on the market has and that is ‘improvisation’. This is when a musician engages in spontaneous creativity, the jazz musician’s specialty. Recent studies have shown that improvisation in music triggers areas of the brain to do with individuality and creativity, so not only can JFB music help in calming and sending babies off to sleep, but their little minds are being gently stimulated by hearing truly creative music as well.
