Sherry Wilson Butler is a singer, entertainer, development teacher/coach, music educator, lyricist, event-programming specialist, educational administrator, actress, and short story writer. Her career spans over 30 years in the music industry. She’s performed and recorded all over the world, with artists of varying styles, including Billy Paul, Teddy Pendergrass, Patti Labelle, Gerald Veasley, Monnette Sudler, John Blake, Duane Eubanks and Justin Faulkner. Her singing and repertoire—reflecting the influences of Betty Carter and Phyllis Hyman, among others, encompass diverse styles, ranging from contemporary jazz and rhythm and blues, to pop and gospel. As an educator, she’s taught at the Perkins Performing Arts Center, for Musicopia, The Philadelphia Clef Club, Philadelphia Arts Education Network, and privately.
