Paula Johns, a.k.a. “La Chanteuse de Jazz” comes from a musical family. Her mother is an opera singer and her father was a church organist and choir director. She originally studied acting at the Freedom Theater, but switched to studying singing at Temple University. She virtually defines the quality of versatility, switching easily from refreshing interpretations of the great American songbook to evocative salutes to the famous ladies of jazz, from Bessie Smith
