Vocalist Beat Kaestli Releases New CD "Invitation" on Chesky Records

CHESKY RECORDS will be releasing Invitation [SACD348], the debut album of vocalist, Beat Kaestli, on CHESKY RECORDS on April 13, 2010. Invitation [SACD348] features Billy Drummond on drums, Jay Leonhart on bass, Paul Meyers on guitar, Joel Frahm on saxophone and Kenny Rampton on Trumpet. Invitation [SACD348] marks the first release for CHESKY RECORDS in 2010. Invitation [SACD348] was recorded at historic St. Peter's Church in Chelsea, New York City. Instead of close miking all the instruments, CHESKY RECORDS uses one very special microphone to hear the full, 360-degree acoustic space of St. Peter's Church. Musicians are always recorded live with no overdubs. No compressors are used in the signal path. A CHESKY RECORDS' SACD on a good system will sound remarkably close to the original performance. Invitation [SACD348], Kaestli's debut on CHESKY RECORDS, is a tribute to the American Songbook and features the songwriting of Rube Bloom and John H. Mercer, Johnny Burke and Jimmy van Heusen, Lorenz Hart and Richard Rodgers, Hoagy Carmichael and Ned Washington and Cole Porter among others.

About Beat Kaestli

Beat Kaestli is a vocalist, songwriter, arranger and producer residing in New York City. He moved to New York from his native home of Switzerland, where he was awarded a scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music (BM). In 2007 he received a scholarship from the Ella Fitzgerald Foundation and graduated in 2008 with a Masters Degree from the Aaron Copland School of Music (MA). While honing his craft alongside noteworthy Jazz performers, such as Jane Monheit, Jason Moran and Stefon Harris, he immersed himself in Manhattan's fiercely competitive music scene, emerging as seasoned performer. He now appears in clubs such as The Blue Note, Birdland, The Bitter End, The Jazz Standard, The Stone and Sweet Rhythm, performing with Jazz greats, like Esperanza Spalding, Jon Hendricks, Clarence Penn, Gregoire Maret, Joel Frahm , Billy Drummond, Magos Herrera and Victor Prieto. In 2005, Beat was the chosen vocalist for the Glenn Miller Orchestra, thrilling audiences in concert halls across the USA. Since the release of his acclaimed CD Happy, Sad and Satisfied in 2006 he is touring the world extensively with his own projects, showcasing his music in renowned clubs and at festivals across the US, Europe, Mexico and Canada.
