Barbara Montgomery has been in the entertainment field for over 30 years as a music industry executive, publisher, producer, songwriter, arranger, recording artist, and television producer. After working in a production capacity for the Mike Douglas Show, and later as Music Director for exercise guru Richard Simmons, she returned to her first love, jazz singing. She’s recorded and produced six CDs as a leader, collaborating with jazz giants such as Chick Corea, Freddie Hubbard, Steve Giordano, and Aaron Graves. Her recordings of Little Sunflower and Trinity were honored with the Blue Chip Award for Best Jazz Vocals by Dr. Herb Wong of the International Association of Jazz Educators. Barbara Montgomery is also extremely active as a jazz journalist, event and concert producer, educator, and vocal advocate and volunteer on behalf of a number of charitable causes. As a jazz vocalist, Montgomery has never taken the easy road, instead performing challenging and often innovative material with an unparalleled technique and respect for the tradition of jazz and jazz singing. Appearing with Barbara Montgomery are pianist Tom Lawton, bassist Lee Smith and drummer Butch Reed.
