Passaggi Circolar (YVP MUSIC)—the new album by the violinist and composer Stefano Zeni—is available in music shops, iTunes and other digital stores.

The CD features Guido Bombardieri on saxophone, Antonio Prencipe on piano, Davide Dejana on bass, Joe Damiani on drums & percussions and Maurizio Giannone on percussions, together with special guests such as Ellade Bandini (drums), Mario Arcari (oboe), Eros Cristiani (fender rhodes & synth), Diego Maggi (fender rhodes & synth) and Massimo Zeni (sequencer and electronic effects).

Passaggi Circolar was composed and arranged by Stefano Zeni and includes eleven instrumental tracks whose themes are based on odd times, rhythmical cycles and melodic counterpoints: a musical atmosphere influenced by Jean-Luc Ponty, Pat Metheny and the Italian jazz-rock.

“In both human and musical terms, this album is the result of many encounters, passions, reflections and musical interests which have influenced my life so far. life is dotted, in all its complexity, with a myriad of steps which lead from one stage to another. these steps may be linear or circular. this circularity of life, of history, of the cosmos and of music looks to the future while never forgetting its origins. i'm interested in eliminating musical barriers by combining simple melodies with the spontaneous freshness of jazz improvisation, the rhythmic elegance of fusion and the warmth of world music."

The album was produced by the German label YVP MUSIC, while the artistic production and the arrangements are both by Stefano Zeni. All the tracks have been recorded at the BLUEFEMME STEREOREC of Montirone (Italy) and have been mixed and mastered by Marco Franzoni. Artwork by Dharma Ferrari and photos by Andrea Leoni.
